When my best friend got engaged, I knew it was time to go all out with a colorful bash. I wanted it to reflect their sweet love and tie in her all-time-favorite album, Lover, by Taylor Swift. So, I started with a color scheme that matches the album cover: bright yellows, pastel blues, cotton candy pinks and fuchsias.
Everyone knows that I'm a sucker for photo walls, and for this vibrant love story, that meant an equally vibrant banner was in-store! I commissioned my husband to help me spray paint a canvas, and a good friend of ours who is an artist helped us with the lettering. We replicated the clouds and wisps, replaced the word "lover" with "engaged", added some glitter and a monogrammed heart, and had ourselves the focal point of the event.
I tied in more Lover vibes with a few graphics reflecting lyrics from the album that perfectly matched Maggie and Zach's love story. I printed them out, put them in frames, and moved on to the cookies! The ever-extraordinary J Raes helped me keep the color scheme alive with fun, vibrant bites that gave a nod to the flower-child-like 70's and the colorful whimsy of a love story only Taylor swift herself could write.
Since no party is complete without champagne, I added custom labels to my to-do list, and after creating a new logo for the soon-to-be-engaged couple and matching it to the color scheme, it was time to party. From the ethereal vibes of the floral-stuffed acrylic cake stand to the way their love shined in the glow of the Christmas lights (the kind that stay up way past January), it was an unforgettable occasion.
